wr1043nd continuously restarts after disable forwarding

Post by razorpl »

Hi.
Today I have experienced very weird behavior of my tl-wr1043nd.
I have 1.5.4 version of Gargoyle firmware.
I'm used to enable port 80 ( 81 extrenal) for my dreambox when I need to have remote access to record tv shows. Right after recording I'm disabling this port. Today, when I unmarked Enable option and clicked save changes something weird happen. My router began to restart again and again. I couldnt even save my settings, because right after logging and going to backup menu router hanged and restarted again. I wasn't able to change any setting, because any attempt to access to memory caused a restart.

I've used external reset button, it worked and bringed back router to normallity. But i've lost all my settings, that I haven't saved before.

Dear Gargoyle founder, Can You solve that problem in next release?

Hi, I got a similar problem, the router suddenly started to restart itself continously.
However in my case it happened without any significant change.
Router is same WR1043ND, Gargoyle same 1.5.4 version too, though mine was working as a Wireless Bridge. It was working fine for many days, but I had to restart the routers, both the gargoyle and the DSL modem-router it was connected to. After this happened the gargoyle started to restart after a while for no apparent reason.
Sometimes it connects to the DSL modem, and sometimes it does not.
Only symptom I noticed was that UPNP port opening stopped working.

How did you manage to get router back to normal? External reset button doesnt seem to work here, or I dont know how it really works?
Does it need to be set up ahead of time or reset should just work out of the box?

try to push reset button while connecting to power, and hold reset button for about 30sec. in my case - it worked.
Reset button brings back to stock most of settings.
