Entire network reached quota

Post by badgcoupe »

So I was testing the entire network quota tools and I messed up. I set the data limit and set it to stop all Internet activity. Turns out this basically turned the router off. No wifi, no dhcp, no nothing. Anyone know how I get back in please?

http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/generic.failsafe

Failsafe mode should allow you to wipe out any current config

Re-configure fresh

I'm surprised it did this, if I use the restrictions as an example if I have my IP on for no internet activity then that's what it does. All internet is lost but the LAN is fine so I can still get to the router.

Have you tries https:// and also ssh?

** hmmm I may have read this wrong, are you saying it's broken the router rather than the quota actually being in force - in which case that could be a nasty one.

Thanks for the replies all. I expected the same thing to happen, no WAN access but full access to the LAN but something got messed up pretty bad.

So what started happening was the router would come on for a bit and then drop off. All lights were flashing fine but WiFi and DHCP would cease to exist almost every 2 minutes. I just ping -t 'd the router until it started responding and then quickly tried to get to the web interface to update the firmware. I updated to the latest 1.5 build and now all is working fine.
