Version 1.5.2 & 1.4.5

I have a Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH and experiencing wifi slowdown too. Works great after a reboot and then crawls hours later. This is better than before when wifi would just die after a while.

Something I have noticed is whatever is holding down wifi goes away quickly when clicking reboot now. I was streaming video. It was stuck in buffering. I click reboot now, and the video almost instantly starts streaming freely. The router shutsdown and I lose connection till it restarts.

Is it happened only w. wifi? or wired too?
DIY by follow test
- Check memory usage (from status page)
- Check maximum number of concurrent sessions usage (from status page)
- Check firewall, clear the buffers data from putty - \etc\init.d\firewall reload -
- Rerun to see any positive change!

I've installed vanilla openwrt now, in order to determine if the problem is gargoyle specific or openwrt specific.

Perfect, looking forward to hear what the result will be.

So far it seems it's gargoyle specific. I haven't seen any slowdown at all when using plain openwrt.

I tried the 30/30/30 reset and am testing it now. So far, results seem pretty good. If I can go 2 or 3 days without a problem, then it will be a good fix for me.

It seems my previous comment was a bit too premature. I can see now that this is a problem that affect plain openwrt too. I'm going to try trunk and see if solves anything.

Good Day

I'm using the both 1.5.1 on the past several weeks with no problems and complain with the user at all. But when version 1.5.2 release, I leave 1.5.1, but couple of days of testing reveal that the QOS of 1.5.1 do most of the job. Because other user complaining about sudden PING spike in their online game. So I decide at this moment to use again version 1.5.1. The only difference is that more restrictions I enable in 1.5.2 than 1.5.1, but now I test 1.5.1 with those restrictions I commit in the 1.5.2 let see if what the best in the QOS.

When you upgraded from 1.5.1 to 1.5.2 did you re-configure fresh?
Or did you load the 1.5.1 configuration?

If you're using a PC as a router and not using 5GHZ / TOR, you should
stick with the stable 1.4.5 version instead.

1.5.x series is better for 5GHZ routers and TOR capability.

Also, that PC is NOT overkill. That's actually recommended.

Lots and Lots and LOTS of testing has been done on the DD-WRT
forums with many routers and general consensus is that a home
router is typically good for 3-5 people.

Any more users, you should be using a PC or possibly
a Routerstation Pro or other similar device.

A HOME router is EASILY maxed out with 3-5 people
Also most home routers cannot ever achieve the 100mbit lines
that are becoming available in some locations.

Im only loads the configuration back up from 1.5.1 and I also add 3 more web ip address restriction.

This day I will be analyzing what the user/clients reactions, if there will have complains again or remain as stable as the time when of 1.5.1 version.

I will post the results about one or two days from now.

BTW there's no THOR in Gargoyle 1.5.x version of X86/Alix images and I'm not using wireless .
X86 firmware images don't came up with THOR, USB STORAGE, since 1.5.0
