Re: 2 independent gargoyle routers

The C7 router turned up through the week, so I flashed it that evening with ispy's 1.9.X (Built 20160421-1751 git@69fe773) version without any real trouble. The NBN guy came yesterday and set up the satellite service. Last night I got the UniFi AP operating and everything seems to be working fine so...

I went with this option. Ordered the parts last night. Only one UniFi AP though at this stage.

Hopefully I don't get any issues with getting gargoyle onto the Archer C7 or with stability. Fingers crossed.

Thanks again for your help guys. Hopefully I can manage it okay from here.

Re: 2 independent gargoyle routers

For max range I use gargoyle + unifi I'd read before that one of you had unifi. The only problem with me going that way is that I'll have 2 internet services, each with it's own gargoyle router. I'd have to double up on unifi AP's if I wanted to do it completely that way. I've just had a call to te...

Re: 2 independent gargoyle routers

I can't recall the max speed of the NBN satellite service but if it's over about 120mbps the archer may start to struggle. It's only 25Mbps download, so not much of a challenge at all. I was thinking of future-proofing though, in case we move to somewhere that has FTTP or FTTN. Plus I'm banking on ...

Re: 2 independent gargoyle routers

Okay, thanks ispyisail.

I see Lantis is running a WRT1900AC. That looks like a good option in terms of future-proofing, but it's pretty much twice the price of the Archer C7. Does anyone have any other recommendations? If not, I'll run with the WRT1900AC.

Re: 2 independent gargoyle routers

Thanks ispyisail. The satellite system won't be installed for at least a month, so I've got time on my side at this stage. Are you confident that the C7 stability issues might get sorted or is there another router that people would recommend in lieu of the C7?

2 independent gargoyle routers

I'm after some advice. I've been a gargoyle user for a few years now and the effort that everyone in here has put in is much appreciated. We currently have adsl connected but it is generally very slow. It goes through it's own modem/router which runs a guest wifi. Anyone is free to use it, no passwo...

Re: Gargoyle - changelog

Yes, a big thanks to Eric. But thanks also to the others who freely give their time and effort to make this thing work. Much appreciated from my end.

Gargoyle on x86 with Speedify

I'm after some guidance and opinions. Our internet performance is a bit ordinary, so along with the ADSL I have a couple of wireless broadband USB modems. I use Speedify installed on a couple of computers to do channel bonding between the adsl and one of the usb modems to improve the bandwidth. I di...
