Re: Which firmware for WRT54GL V1.1
https://www.gargoyle-router.com/downloads/images/brcm47xx/gargoyle_1.6.2-wrt54g-squashfs.bin That will be the latest. Unless you're asking this router to do very simple things, I'd not bother. To put it into perspective, the router has so little ram available that on newer versions you can't use Wif...

Re: Configure LAN port as WAN on WR841N
The easiest way is to use WinSCP for Windows. The address is the IP of the router (usually 192.168.1.1). Password is your password. Set the protocol to SCP. Do you understand everything else in the thread? You need the port table from here: https://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/netgear/wndr3700 Port. Switch ...

Re: Show hosts name in quotas
I'm sure there is a built in function if you check out the source code
Alternatively, write your own.
My approach would be to parse the ip's against the /etc/hosts file.
Have fun.

Re: UPNP ON VER 1.9.0
That's pretty much it for UPnP, and possibly more features in the future. Everything is only getting bigger unfortunately. You are right that for your current usage requirements, you do not need a super expensive router. When searching in the future, 8MB of flash space is the minimum i would recomme...

It supports the Chinese version.
We always recommend checking the wiki first or asking on the forums.
Caveat emptor regardless I spose.
Your router is fixable though don't worry.
I hope you have a more positive gargoyle experience in the future.

Re: What is "gargoyle-ispy"?
You can also view the details of the changes here http://www.gargoyle-router.com/gargoyle/projects/gargoyle/activity That's good and everything, but it doesn't distinguish work which occurs on different branches of development. Plus, you miss out on some of the conversation that occurs. I'd recomme...

Re: "Segmentation Fault" when installing ipk
How recently did you flash 1.8.1? Segmentation faults are pretty common with the plugin system, it's a bit of a pain but I don't know of a solution.

Let's just double check your settings.
Remind me of your end goal?
Is it to kill off Netflix, or make it only use the minimum required for it to work?
What "quality" do you watch Netflix in, standard or HD

Re: Two things I miss from Tomato...
While your suggestions are good, and I'd like them as well!, adding features at this point is getting us close to the point of having to drop 4mb router support. I'm not sure on the future direction of gargoyle but we may see a fork soon if support is to remain and the firmware is to continue to grow.
