Re: dir-505 downloads mising + overfull firmare
The 1.15 beta image should work, although you won't have much flash space to install any extra packages, or maybe enable the bandwidth monitor. As best I can tell there should be about 650-700kB of overlay space available in total, of which about 300kB should be free with a minimal (non-preserved) c...

Re: Gargoyle on my CheckPoint L-71W. It is possible?
None of the Annapurna Labs CPUs appear to be supported by OpenWrt in any target so it's not practically feasible.

Re: Gargoyle 1.15.x BETA - 2024-11-13 - Based on OpenWrt 23.05
Your earlier post showed it returning “eth0”. Config shows “eth0.2”. No idea why or how this can happen. Does this possibly arise on those swconfig devices which have to explicitly use VLAN IDs to set the WAN and LAN connectivity within the switch? I think I've seen the same symptom (no reported sp...

Re: Archer C7 v5 wan to lan slow performance
In addition to Lantis' suggestions, in some markets the Asus RT-AX59U can be found at attractive prices too - a little less straightforward to flash than the GL-MT6000 though (requires a 3rd party "transition" image be flashed first but this worked fine for me); recommend enabling packet s...

Re: What wifi router to buy?
However, there were also published some links to related issue tickets: https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/issues/12143 https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/issues/13122 https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/issues/13262 Thanks for these links - it seems to not be a universal problem, but for those who ...

Re: Strange message from Gargoyle
Q1: How to boot into failsafe? OpenWrt docs on failsafe mode Q2: is 1.15 beta stable enough? Depends on what "stable enough" means to you. I'm running 1.15. beta builds on several devices as daily drivers and it's been stable for me. Q3: (for refrence) is there a way to migrate from Gargo...

Re: TP-Link Archer AX90, AX6600
You will need to use the current Gargoyle beta images from here (see link at bottom of first post - search for "AX23" within the "ramips" target) - these images have been quite stable in operation on most targets from reports in that beta thread and my own usage. See also the Ope...

Re: TP-Link Archer AX90, AX6600
RT-AX54 This model is an ramips target device supported by the OpenWrt 23.05 branch that could be supported by Gargoyle, likewise the RT-AX53U. Both are essentially the same hardware as the TP-Link AX23 (i.e. same SoC, same switch chip, same radio chips), except that the RT-AX53U has a USB port but...

Re: TP-Link Archer AX90, AX6600
Unfortunately more recent TP-Link routers are using chipsets that OpenWrt (& thus Gargoyle) have more difficulty supporting (particularly Broadcom chipsets). The only relatively recent TP-Link routers Gargoyle currently supports are the Archer AX23 (v1 & v1.2) and the ER605 v2 (has no WiFi),...
