Re: gl.inet mt300n-v2 as LTE access point

What's the issue? That sounds like it is working normally.

Perhaps show what is happening in the GUI (Connection->Basic page) and what you think is or is not working.

We don't package usb modeswitch, it isn't needed.

Re: Router migration with backup

Yes everything you've said is correct. I'll clarify that the binary files in /usr/data should be safe, as they are written in the same memory pattern every time (regardless of system endianness) as far as my understanding of the code. However there is still potential for that to go wrong. Yes your m...

Re: asterisk front end

Installing.

If you build Gargoyle from source and include Asterisk, of course the kmods required will match as they were produced at the same time.

To be fair to Flak, i also had trouble with the torrent not picking up seeders.
I restarted the torrent several times before it finally found them. I'm not entirely sure what the problem was. I don't deal with torrents often.

Re: Router migration with backup

You cannot restore a backup between two different devices. You will soft-brick your device and require a failsafe reset. If you don't want to restore all settings by hand, you can attempt to restore the files individually using something like WinSCP. You should reboot the router after these changes ...

Re: asterisk front end

If asterisk relies on a kernel module that is not included in Gargoyle already (I don't know what it requires) then it will try to source that kmod.
If you have kernel version X and it can only find kmods for version Y, it won't proceed.

Re: Total upload & download bandwidth setting for symmetric leased line

I don't think Gargoyle will work well in this scenario.

Re: asterisk front end

No Asterisk plugins no. The package itself should be installable from upstream unless it has kernel dependencies.

Re: A few good ideas?

1. I just don't really see any time i'd have an advantage in pinging an FQDN instead of an IP. The idea doesn't capture my imagination, so i'm not going to sink time into it. I'm sure there are use cases, but it's small fish as far as i'm concerned. If you or anyone else wants to send a PR with a ch...

Re: Openwrt 19.07 based Gargoyle

I'll merge it into Eric's repo soon, but I won't merge it into master without his say so (as we agreed). It's his call on whether to do releases or not. I will prompt him when I think it is ready. It might be nice to start doing beta builds soon, but there's a bit to be checked with upgrading to it ...
