Re: Can't upgrade Firmware

Update: The router seems to work OK :) Perhaps the firmware is the same on both models? Or should I try again with the correct firmware? On another matter: I'm trying to set up the 3700 as an Access Point only, the modem I've set to allocate IP addresses 10.1.1.2 to 10.1.1.99. I'd like to set the 37...

Re: Can't upgrade Firmware

Thanks but I still managed to stuff up :(

I installed the 3800 firmware onto a 3700v2, I'm such an idiot!

Any way back from this or should I factory reset and start again?

Thanks for all the help :)

Can't upgrade Firmware

I have a Netgear 3800 running Gargoyle 1.5.1 Trying to upgrade to 1.5.9 but no matter what computer or browser I use I get the Wait whilst upgrading message. But nothing happens. I'm trying to load the factory *.img file but just noticed on the upgrade page it says: "Firmware should be a sysupg...

Revert TP-Link TL-WR1043ND to Stock?

I'd like to revert my 1043 to stock firmware, as the Gargoyle interface is too slow and hangs most of the time. I've tried the procedure below but the upgrade just hangs forever and stays on Gargoyle. http://www.gargoyle-router.com/wiki/doku.php?id=tp-link_tl-wr1043nd#revert_back_original_firmware A...

Re: USB attached printer

It was a canon pixma mp 480 from memory.

It had win 7 drivers which I installed, its at a client's home at present, but if I get a chance I'll reinstall.

For the moment I've put it back into the original port.

Re: USB attached printer

Hi sabrewulf, Thanks for the help, I'd forgotten all about TCP/IP ports, I think it was the HP Direct that threw me :) I'm not there yet though :( On my XP machine that's ethernet to the Netgear, I'm able to print but I can't see ink status. I get messages that the printer is off line, but it still ...

We can add Bitdefender to that list :(

I tried everything, turned off firewall, added ip address exemptions, nothing worked.

Uninstalled it and installed Avast and it now works :)

Thanks hnl for the tip and everyone else who helped.

USB attached printer

My setup is a little unusual: Modem downstairs with wireless. Gargoyle 1.5.1 on Netgear WNDR 3700v2 upstairs with wireless. The Gargoyle has DHCP turned off, so it's just a wireless transmitter. I've attached a Canon printer to Gargoyle and it's shown as attached. It also has a cryptic message about...
