New to Gargoyle setup help!

Post by riaz »

I have a gateway device that will run all my DHCP.

Gateway Device --Wired--> MR3201a (with gargoyle)

I want the MR3201a to act as an wireless AP, so when people connect to it, they are actually getting the IP from the gateway device.

What should my setup on the MR3201A be??
thanks!

very simple, in this case just disable the DHCP on gargoyle and it will (should) ask for the gateway for IP address... let me know if it works
Linksys WRT54GL = Gargoyle 1.4.2
TP-Link TL-WR741ND = Gargoyle 1.4.2
Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH = Gargoyle 1.4.2

I am also newbie, also trying to do the same.
This is what I did, and it seems to be working...

I have an ADSL modem at ip 192.168.1.1 with DHCP deamon
I want openwrt to act as a "transparent" AP.

I do the following:
disable WAN/Internet
set gargoyle router IP 192.168.1.100, gateway,dns 192.168.1.1
LAN DHCP disabled
Wifi AP

I connect the ADSL modem, to one of the 4 ethernet ports and NOT the WAN
