Problems with Plugins

Post by olsen »

Hi,

I wanted to update my TP-Link TL-WR1043N/ND v2 from 1.6.2 to 1.8.1. Basically the update works. But when I want to install plugins (Tor, German, theme), I can install some and and sometimes all of them but can't access them in the menu on the left. Sometimes I can access one or two but never all. Most times uninstallation is not possible so that I have to upload firmware again and start all over. There is no pattern recognisable when a plugin is installed and shown on the left and when not.

I remember that this was an issue already when I installed 1.6.2 some years ago. Back then I tried many time to get my plugins installed and running. This time I tried about 10 times and getting tired. :?

Is there any work around maybe via ssh and command line? How to install plugins from command line? Can I force the system to scan installed plugins and to rebuild the menu?

Thank you.

I have seen similar issues, but have not investigated them properly yet.

Are you using an external USB for your plugin_root by chance?
Can you help someone else get Gargoyle up and running?
TL-WDR3600 : Gargoyle 1.9.0 : NBN FixedWireless
TL-WR1043ND-V2 : Gargoyle 1.8.0 : 3G Huawei E160E

No, I don't use external storage (but thought about it since Gargoyle is growing but not my router's memory).

Is my problem solved? I can't find a list of bugfixes.

On what version does that build base on? I tried 1.9 and saw that there is not enough memory left for plugins like Tor.

By the way, I miss some guides like "How to use USB storage to expand plugin memory" and "How to install software with command line". I tried to install mc but was rejected by write permission (even as root). Any idea if and where I can find this information?

Thanks a lot.
