SSH into router.
Type "firstboot"

Please note that there are warnings not to keep the old configuration.

use PuTTY.exe and use SSH.
Port 22.
Username: root
Password: your password

once logged in, type "firstboot".
Telnet is disabled once you set a password which is why it isn't working.

Did you try using the default password, "password"?

If you can't get in you'll have to do a fail safe reset.
