TL-WA730RE Reset

Post by ARandomSpaz »

Hi, Just recently upgraded my firmware on my TL-WA730RE range extender to version 1.7.1 and as I was setting it up it froze and I left it for a while and power cycled it. It now resets itself every minute and I cant access the webpage at 192.168.1.1 for it now. just would like some help in trying to fix it. already hit the reset button on the back multiple times and the range extender button too but nothing.

Cheers, Tom.

Fail safe reset.

If after this you are still experiencing reboot loops I suggest the latest build as there was a fix for such behaviour

Please be respectful when posting. I do this in my free time on a volunteer basis.

Hi.

I have a similar problem. No tplinklogin.net web page.

I have TP-Link (labeled version - TL-WR842ND v2) with software version TL-WR1042ND v1. visible in tplinklogin.net.

I upgraded the software from two years ago because the router to crash and only after disconnecting from the power supply and reconnecting the internet worked.

Yesterday I wanted to upload a gargoyle but on the 842 version I get message that it was a "bad file/version name" so I threw version of the 1042 which went flawlessly, but after a reboot did not work longer tplinklogin.net page.

Today I'll try to erase openwrt (gargoyle) via telnet as in the manual, but what to do later. How to install a gargoyle so that the configuration work?

Yet such additional question whether the Gargoyle is the function of the WAN client by Wifi
and separation for customers Wifi internet or LAN clients though?

Thank you all.

Rename the file with a shorter name (like gargoyle.bin) and try again.
Can you help someone else get Gargoyle up and running?

Ok, I understand this, but how open a config webpage?
I can't do this, cause tplinklogin.net or 192.168.1.1 don't open.

"Strona internetowa jest niedostępna

ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED"

Please help. Today I try "Recovery mode" but don't help. Webpage is down all the time. ;(

The equivalent in a default Gargoyle installation is Gargoyle.net but the recommended address to use in a default Gargoyle installation is 192.168.1.1

To connect to a new Gargoyle install you need a physical connection from an ethernet port on your PC to a LAN port on the Gargoyle router. You cannot connect to the Gargoyle router via a WAN port or wifi the first time. Is this the problem?

Sorry I do not understand this part of the question. :( Could you try and reword it?
