Hi.I want to instal gargoyle on Tplinkwr841nd ver9.1.There is an ver 1.7 image file for this Tplink version. But I encounter some difficulties in using DDNS I mentionedhere
which I don't experience it on version 1.6.
Is it safe to install another tplink version firmware of gargoyle1.6 on my version9 router or not?for example 841nd version8 firmware.
Is it safe to install another Tplink version firmware?

Can you help someone else get Gargoyle up and running?

I am not a developer, but based on my quick look at OpenWRT I would be reading the info carefully. However, it seems that @marrco has tested a particular Gargoyle build successfully with your exact version. That is good news!harsini wrote:So you mean it wouldn't be safe?nworbnhoj wrote:see info at

If you run into trouble then a reecovery should be straight forward because you have a version of Gargoyle on your router already.

I would do the install the @marco suggests

That one is just a newer 1.71 build. In that forum (http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/viewforum.php?f=14) you can often find user contributed builds.harsini wrote:I already installed ver1.7 but what is the version of custom gargoyle which Mr @marrco introduced? Is this a modified version of 1.7 or 1.6 or...?

Thank you Marrco but my weird problem with DDNS start with 1.7 and its successor.marrco wrote:That one is just a newer 1.71 build.
