Stable hardware suggestion with Gargoyle

Post by Poir »

I'll just copy paste what i asked somewhere else.

Hi everyone,

I need to replace my aging D-link 615. I was able to extend it's life with Gargoyle.(Thank god for the daily auto reboot feature!)

What model would you recommend to use with Open-WRT(Gargoyle)? I'd put stability over performance on my list.

I don't need any specials hardware features. Wifi performance isn't really important. I need a 2nd AP anyway(old house).

After some quick searching, i couldn't find a definite answer. I plan to use the router for some gaming and the usual girlfriend stuff. I really like the QoS package Gargoyle has to offer. It's the main reason i want this firmware.

Thank you.

I have a wr841n v8 on 1.5.11 and it's great.

WDR3600 gets mentioned a lot around here and elsewhere:
