What type of router are you using?

It doesn't matter if using Gargoyle / OpenWRT / DD-WRT

Whatever is loaded on most Atheros device based routers,
you will still be able to access the Redboot

If you cannot access Redboot after the flash, it may have been
a bad flash. Try another PC just to be sure.

Fon-Flash should always work and is probably the best for
catching those quick-timed redboot startups.

Do you remember what guide you used?

If you were following one of the guides, for the DIR-300 rev A,
If I remember correctly, you are replacing the boot-loader.

That being the case - if that goes bad, you could have corrupted
the boot loader/redboot and not be able to get into it.

There is also a possibility that you skipped a step and it's not at
the default IP address it should be, might be another default IP.

Hard to tell, but at this point, it's not anything firmware based.
It definitely sounds like the bootup portion might be corrupt
or mis-configured - re-check the guide you used.

http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/vi ... ?f=6&t=393 this is the guide that I followed,
and I skipped the change the bootloader thing, I went straight to the
"Change your local ip to 192.168.1.2/255.255.255.0 restart the router " because I have dd-wrt installed already. Was it wrong or what.

Umm - the guide is saying you do NOT have to load the DD-WRT
firmware portion - only the bootloader portion.

The bootloader is what you cannot skip.

You can skip loading the firmware and flash other firmware.

If you happened to change any IP address settings, you might
have to try other default IP's.

Typically, you get into the router @ 192.168.1.1 port 9000

but if you happened to change a setting on the router,
it might now be 192.168.1.2 port 9000 for the router.

So... Do you remember what / where you changed the IP?

Have you tried accessing the router now @
