Running latest firmware(1.6.1), tried going to 1.6.0 with no change. Running in Client+AP mode, everything including main router, set on CH 6 (the channel the main modem seemed to always settle on). Every 15 minutes-1 hour the connection drops and then immediately comes back up. Doesn't happen if I'm connected directly to the main router.
Any suggestions? Also do I actually need to lock the channel on the main router? That's a Netgear WNDR3400 on stock firmware.

Anybody?
Moved to 1.6.2, problem persists though it seems to occur less frequently.

Using a similar setup here, but with an EnGenius AP and a WZR-600DHP. If you're trying 40MHz, try it at 20MHz, sometimes the client's radio gets funny ideas of the correct channel in Client/AP mode with 40MHz. Also, try disabling ANI. On some routers, ANI helps, on others, it hinders.
to disable ANI, ssh into your router and run
Just my $0.02 on it, but I think it's worth a try

Code: Select all
echo 0 > /sys/kernel/debug/ieee80211/phy0/ath9k/ani

Try downgrading to 1.4.7.
