Steam on port 80? o_O

Post by atomico »

Hello, i am trying to filter steam download. From official support steam page i read:

Steam Client

UDP 27000 to 27015 inclusive (Game client traffic)
UDP 27015 to 27030 inclusive (Typically Matchmaking and HLTV)
TCP 27014 to 27050 inclusive (Steam downloads)
UDP 4380

so in theory TCP 27014 to 27050 inclusive (Steam downloads) should be my case. The problem is that when steam download game it go in this filter:

Source Port: 80, Connection bytes: 1024 kBytes

and i don't understand why... it don't use port 80.

Yes, I also found out Steam uses port 80 to download games, but since I download new games rarely I didn't take deeper look. This problem can probably be solved by looking at IPs Steam uses and set addition filter for them.
