I have the V2 I just bought the other day, But Occasionally I`ve have issues where it will loose WAN connection, even though I can go to 192.168.100.1 and see my cable modem stats but no connection to the internet. (its not the ISP) Anyway It has not happened today.
I was thinking about trying out Gargoyle but I know flashing back to stock is not as easy on the V2 of this router.
Anyone Post there review or thoughts of running it compaired to stock on this router the V2? I`ve ran it in the past for a few days on V1 back when I owned one. But I really need to make the move from DD-WRT.
Thanks
Hope to be flashing tommrow.

I don`t really do this in forums but... No one?
Re: Questions Before Flashing . TL-WR1043ND V2
I have 2 V2 versions. One i successfully flashed with Gargoyle and it works flawlessly. The other i restored settings after flashing and it's over and out. So flashing to gargoyle is no problem but don't try to restore settings. See downloads for the right file for V2. Very important !!

Mine works flawlessly. The only annoyance is my Epson NX230 no longer connects via wifi, whereas it did just fine with V1 of this series router. Not sure what changed with the wifi between versions of the TL-WR1043ND?

If you want to go back to oem firmware, check the openwrt wiki (I updated it). http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wr1043nd
But I think imho gargoyle/openwrt firmware is better though

Hi
I had the same problems with my Epson printer and had to set up a different router just for that to connect but I've now found how to get it to work with gargoyle thanks to a post in german on the dd-wrt forum
Firstly, (and while your printer is still connected to your existing network) make sure you have EpsonNet Config installed and run it (download it from the Epson website if you don't have it). Connect to your printer using EpsonNet Config and go to the wireless config section. Type in your ssid and password (as it will be under gargoyle) and then change the encryption from AES (set as default in Epson and it wont work with AES) and change it to TKIP. Then send the changes to the printer, at this stage your printer may disconnect.
Now set up gargoyle and in gargoyle make sure you have tkip encryption enabled on your router. To do this use WinSCP to conenct to the router and In the wireless config file , if you currently see
option encryption 'psk2'
change it to
option encryption 'psk2+tkip+aes'
and save the file.
Then in a terminal session turn wifi off and back on with
wifi down
followed by
wifi up
(or reboot the router)
Once the wifi is back up your Epson should connect to the router! This has frustrated me for many many months and now it works
