Router Default User Name

Post by AKFish »

I have just purchased a Router from Gargoyle with the the software pre-loaded. It is white. TP-Link Model #: TL-WR1043ND.

When I attempt to access 192.168.1.1 to attempt to configure the router, I get a screen asking for both User Name and Password.

After searching this forum, I have tried the following User Names and Passwords:

Username:
- root
- admin
- root/admin
- root\admin
- blank

Password:
- password
- Password
- openwrt
- OpenWRT

I am at a loss. Any help available?

Thank you

And you must access the router first through the web page to set a password. The web page does not ask for a user name.

After that you can access using SSH and the command line.
Linksys WRT1900ACv2
Netgear WNDR3700v2
TP Link 1043ND v3
TP-Link TL-WDR3600 v1
Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH2

Thank you both.

I'm not very skilled and it turns out that I was hitting a different router in my home. Once I disconnected from that router, I got to the gargoyle sign-in page.

Thanks, ;)
