IGMP Snooping?

Post by ZOOBR »

I am setting up a router to pass iptv WLAN. I need to configure both udpxy and igmp to transfer to another network. Almost all set up, but there is one question.
Whether IGMP Snooping in the firmware and how to manage this option? Method for OpenWrt (http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/udp_multicast) does not work.

I do not think that IGMP snooping applies to routers. This is something only for level 2 switches.
Linksys WRT1900ACv2
Netgear WNDR3700v2
TP Link 1043ND v3
TP-Link TL-WDR3600 v1
Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH2
WRT54G-TM

This is not accurate. Asus[1] and TP-Link[2] both support this feature in their routers because if they didn't, plugging in an IPTV device would flood every every port and radio with unwanted UDP multicast packets and cripple the network. So IGMP snooping is very much a router feature.

Is there an ETA for IPTV management in the Gargoyle interface?
