Can i use gargoyle firmware on this router? I saw firmware for v3, v7 of the router but not for this version.

Support for the router is present in Attitude Adjustment (which Garogyle is based on), but Gargoyle does not have a line in the default profile to build for WL-WR841NDv8.x routers.
You can add '-tl-wr841n-v8-squashfs-' to gargoyle/targets/ar71xx/profiles/default/profile_images and try to compile it yourself if you are interested. Otherwise, OpenWrt probably has an image.

If I can ever get my act together, this router will have firmware images in the future official releases & interim builds here: http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/viewforum.php?f=14
