[guidance]Install plugins to USB

Hello,
I'm new to the whole linux theme, and so far i LOVE it on every level there is i even installed it on all my computers trying to learn more,
though i'm asking for a simple guidance for using my my usb reader with 2gb memory on it to make a swap partition and the rest of the space for plugins but i cannot successfully make the USB the default destination path for it and i used the GUI trying to set it but no use and resetted 10's of times and been scouring the forum for something that could be simple and related to 1.5.10 but no use finding something, and in openwrt its really so overwhelming for a newbie trying to learn like but i did learn alot except for the part i need, so could anyone please direct me to anything that could help on how to set the rest of the space to be automount a filesystem path for the plugins to be installed at, and if you would be kind any linux 101 related stuff i can start with.. im really eager to learn.. please.
i have wndr3700v1 with gargoyle 1.5.10 using micro 2gb memory on a reader.
sorry if im posting in the wrong forum and request that i feel its been discussed a million times i just wish i could find it.
