OK, I don't really know what version I'm actually running, the status page says 1.0.0 Final, but the "subversion" I am unsure of..
What I do want to know, though is:
1. How do I find out my "subversion" ? The files that I downloaded are gargoyle_1.0.0-wrt54g-squashfs.bin, and gargoyle_1.0.4-brcm-2.4-squashfs.trx (which is obviously 1.0.4), however, I am not sure which one I actually used to flash!
2. If I upgrade to a later version, are all settings lost? If so, is there any way to export settings/import settings before/after this is done?
3. Is there a Changelog of some description? I didn't realise .11 and .12 had been released!

1. if the status page says your version is 1.0.0 Final then your version is 1.0.0
you can download the latest 1.0.12 and flash your router (i assume it's a wrt54g?)
2. you can save the settings and restore them on to the latest version. but i don't konw whether the oldest version such as 1.0.0 is compatible with saved settings. (just to make sure before you update you can take a few screen shots of your settings pages)
3. Eric is now starting to put change log in the home page. you can only read the change log on the development log in
