Bricked TP LINK TL WR740N V4

Post by edud2k »

I tried to go back to the original firmware of TP LINK and broke the system. I now have the flashing lights only, and can not access the router more. I tried safe mode, but could not succeed. I turn on the router and press the QSS button however does not go into safe mode. I do not know what else to do. and the lights still flashing. My router is TP LINK TL WR740N V4. I need help.

http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl- ... debricking

Try the debricking steps on that page.

If you can't get that to work you will have to recover via serial.

Also - this can be much harder on Windows Vista / 7 machines.

Try to do the recovery on an XP machine if at all possible.
