Upgraded to 1.5.7 over the weekend on my Netgear WNDR3700-100AUS V2. I did a reset to default followed by the upgrade. Not a problem, all worked smoothly.
What do I notice so far?
faster routing
QoS works fine
less dropouts - I have two SqueezeBox Booms that would drop out on 1.4.7 all the time, with 1.5.7. no dropouts, all good
I've yet to find any serious defects but I haven't looked that much either.
Forgot to mention: WR1043ND V1, transfer speeds at nominal 150Mbps never reached 20Mbps on 1.5.6 (tested using iperf), with unstable periods of bandwidth in the hundreds of KB. Now with 1.5.7 get stable, effective 40Mbps. Absolutely amazing work.
I have a WNDR3700 v1 (uk) running Gargoyle 1.5.6 firmware and would like to know if there is any major bugs that would cause me issues using the newer 1.5.7 Attitude Adjustment firmware.
The router is currently connect wired to an Xbox 360 and wireless connections with laptop and android tablet.

The Attitude Adjustment didn't work you say?
Apparently not for him
Running fine so far for me on 2x 1043nd, one flashed from factory and one from 1.5.6.

I have not been able to get it to work following the instructions in the wiki for the wzr-hp-g300nh. I have been able twice now to get the file gargoyle_1.5.7-ar71xx-generic-wzr-hp-g300nh2-squashfs-factory.bin over to /tmp using ssh. Both times the router has appeared to apply the new firmware and reboot only to leave the diag light blinking every couple of seconds and the router useless. I can restore the factory firmware using the instructions for unbricking this model on the DD-WRT website, I even tried those instructions to install 1.5.7 to no avail. Hope someone can point this noob in the right direction.
Do this:
1) flash the WZR-HP-G300NH to the Professional Firmware from the
Buffalo Router website - the Professional firmware = pure DD-WRT
firmware version - and this one will allow you to flash the images
from OpenWRT / Gargoyle
2) Once you have DD-WRT firmware installed - don't setup anything
except for the user/password
3) From the DD-WRT GUI - flash this firmware build:
gargoyle_1.5.7-ar71xx-generic-wzr-hp-g300nh2-squashfs-factory.bin
Once you start the flash process - leave the router alone for
about 15-30 minutes - leave the computer and router alone
In about 20 minutes - check the router and see if the DIAG light
is flashing - if its not - try to login - from a new browser session -
to the 192.168.1.1 web page and see if Gargoyle shows up.
Thanks for the help.
If it helps anyone
I could not get this to work, I tried the current image from the website and the version of the of the "professional" software that came with my router. Flashing from the Buffalo gui, always failed. Not sure what I was doing wrong.
It did get me thinking and, I hate to admit it but when I was using tftp to flash I was using the "factory" image once I got the "tftp" image the flash procedure ( http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Bu ... using_TFTP ) went smoothly.
Finally I have a wzr-hp-g300nhv2 running gargoyle with quotas by ip, and so far no issues!
