I notice that I have my WNDR3700V2 channel width set at 40MHz, second channel below and the channel set to 7. When I use Inssider to examine the wireless space I can see another router with 7+11 and the max bandwidth at 300 but mine indicates 7 with max bandwidth 130. I was thinking that mine should indicate 1+7.
Ideas? I'm running 1.4.7

You mean "downgrade" the firmware?

TP-LINK WR743ND in garage - 1.9.2 gargoyle
And many Chinese LB-LINK Repeater's another location
