Backup / Restore Page Bug?

Post by heuristic »

Did a search but could not find any reference to this... seems the Backup / Restore page within the System menu for me is totally blank... is this a bug or a feature which has yet to be realized?

I am using .10 and Firefox lastest version on a PC.

Tried it with IE 8 on the same PC, same problem.

Cheers!

Try and purge your page cache files.

I've occasionally had page glitches, and when I switched to
a different browser or purged my caches, then I was able
to access the pages again.

I use Internet Explorer 8, Firefox 3.5.2, and Google Chrome latest.

Ya, tried clearing all caches, used CC cleaner to be sure, my HP laptop also has a shred function which I used each every time I close all browsers.

I have not rebooted the router since it's initial flash, which was 4 days ago... not sure if that may be a factor...

Thanks for your response, R

Try rebooting... for some reason I've found that weird page errors (that are impossible to replicate consistently, and therefore debug) sometimes happen immediately after flashing new firmware. After the first reboot, everything seems fine.

I've tried to figure out what is causing this intermittent issue, but so far it's proved elusive.

Hi Eric, I did a reboot from your system menu, problem persists so I will try a cold boot, and failing that a hard reset... will let you know.

I can't reproduce the bug myself.

I tried flipping back and forth between pages.

Tried 3 different browsers:

Google Chrome latest - 3.0.195.20
Mozilla Firefox latest - 3.5.3
Internet Explorer 8 latest - 8.0.6001.18702

All of the browsers can access all pages.

------------

Side note: Eric - one thing I've noticed with the different browsers:

With Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome, when you choose to
backup all settings to a file, it backs it up to:

backup.tar.gz

But when you choose to backup the settings in Internet Explorer
you get the file

backup.tar.tar

Is this a glitch? Do we just manually rename the last .tar to .tz?

Anyone else experience this with Internet Explorer 7 ?

I just tried IE8 (on Windows 7) and I get the same backup.tar.tar
Just another reason to avoid IE (not that I need more reasons)
