Buffalo WHR-G125 - not working for install

Post by DoesItMatter »

The Buffalo WHR-G125

Broadcom 5354 chipset
4MB Flash / 16MB Ram

Uses DD-WRT generic build, either mini or standard.

Tried flashing the broadcom generic 1.0.6 build, no luck.

I tried flashing from DD-WRT, I tried TFTP'ing the file, both
said it was successfully flashed, but the device does not boot.

Able to recover back to DD-WRT via TFTP, so not an issue.

Just letting you know currently this device won't load up
with Gargoyle - know you're busy, so whenever you got time!

Does the problem arise of the WAN is disconnected? There is a report in another thread, that if the WAN is connected there are problems, but if it is disconnected, it seems to be ok.

Obviously this is a major problem... but if you're seeing the same thing, that would be helpful to know.

Only cable I had connected was a LAN cable for flashing

WAN port was open, nothing connected yet.

When I TFP, the default IP for the WHR-G125 is 192.168.11.1

The flashing LOOKS like it works, but nothing happens.

It goes through the process, then only shows the power LED

I tried pinging 192.168.11.1, 192.168.1.1 - no luck

Easy to recover via TFTP mode though, luckily its built in :D

--------------------------------

Flashed 1.0.6 to my Fonera 2201+ via Fon Flash

I've never been able to upgrade the Fon via the Web GUI
Not an issue though, as I prefer wiping the nvram first.

I left the WAN connected to my cable modem

Flashed successfully, no issues, and no problems getting into
Gargoyle interface or configuring it.

Up and running for me - no issues with it not coming up.

Just doesn't work on the WHR-G125 currently, I can wait.
