What memory type it that ? Program memory flash or an external memory unit ?

Not sure if you are making up terms or what? Everything is stored in the flash memory that is soldered onto the circuit board of your router. Yes there is theoretically some limit on the number of times it can be written to. And no, no one really knows what that is. Less is surely better if you want to extend it's life. The cron file you linked to shows it writes to memory every 4 hours.

mix that is useful thank you. I must confess when I heard it was stored in flash memory which was writing fairly constantly I thought that this could be bad for it.
From my quick search the only concern with flash memory is that it has a finite amount of writes but if this reasonably unscientific test is to go by
