I play a game (Heroes of Newerth) and have been having trouble joining games, which I assume is due to Gargoyle having an aggressive firewall. I've tried everything I could think of, including putting my PC in DMZ (I thought it would bypass the firewall?) but the problem still persists.
I'm not really that router savy (brother's the one for that) but after a month of this problem (bar switching back to DD-WRT) I thought i'd ask if there is a way to disable the firewall's flood detection, or the firewall altogether.
If I use DD-WRT or plug straight into my modem, I have no problems. I also have no problems with Tomato on our old Linksys.
Any help much appreciated.

If DD-WRT can work than I would think that OpenWRT should work as well. Have you done any investigation to find out which ports your game uses? If you forward the correct ones I would think it should work for you.
