Gargoyle for Atheros AR7130

Post by szemo77 »

Hello,

It is possible to add support for Atheros AR7130 boards in Gargoyle?
I can success install LuCI src.
System: Atheros AR7130 rev 2 (id:0xa8)
Processor: MIPS 24K V7.4
Load: 0.00, 0.01, 0.00
Memory: 60.93 MB (11% cached, 0% buffered, 79% free

I don't test yet if Gargoyle will run but i see only src for atheros packages. I can be beta tester for that boards if you like.
I have my own clear running Open-WRT compilation from trunk for AR7130.

Ok, some install results from logs. Any idea how to install it correctly?

Hi -- sorry it's taken me a while to respond, but I've been really busy this week (though lately that seems to be very week).

I wouldn't try to use the atheros packages for a different board. I'm not surprised they don't work. You will probably have better luck compiling from source. Checkout the source from SVN, and then run:

Code: Select all

sh full-build-809.sh custom
Then configure the build for your router (a screen equivalent to make menuconfig should pop up when you run that command) and wait half an hour to an hour while it builds. When you configure it make sure to select the gargoyle package under admin/gargoyle.

The biggest catch you're going to run into is that only brcm & atheros wifi is currently supported in the GUI. Configuration of ath9k, (which I seem to remember is usually associated with this architecture), is not yet supported.

Hmm. Board is RB411A with Wistron CM9. Webgui LuCi full working.

In first time with mistake I install packages from:
src/gz snapshots http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/ ... x/packages
src gargoyle http://gargoyle-router.com/packages/kam ... theros-2.6
....and Gargoyle web gui was present. Wi-fi works only when I enable it in console network config. Sitesurway works, but can't save settings form webgui. Save booton not works.

Ok, I make new trunk build with selected gargoyle package.

Successful build with Gargoyle and successful booting Web Gui works, new login page, all pages from menu load correct, even Save button works. All LAN services too.

Wi-Fi was disabled default and need first enter configuration by console to /etc/config/wireless. Then wireless get enable Gargoyle. All wifi options works: modes, scan ...etc..

And now "LOL" WAN port don't works  Any mode dhcp on WAN port don't get configuration. I test wire and wireless dhcp client configuration. Nothing works.

Ok, so I make static configuration for wire WAN port. hmm... from router I can ping internet hosts. But PCs from lan get full configuration from router dhcp server, correct dns.... and no internet conection. Gargoyle show correct routing table too.
Ok, I make some pings to all hops... hmmm something is with NAT...

Eric any idea?
I remember that similar problem was in Tomato. WAN port don't works too. There helps Vlan configuration set.

Code: Select all

nvram set vlan0ports="0 1 2 3 4 5*"
nvram set vlan1ports="5"
nvram set manual_boot_nv=1
nvram commit
reboot
:/ how about here?

Gargoyle save all changes from web gui to network configurations files in /etc/ correct. I compare with similar Gargoyle config on Fonera.
I need help what test next.

The important config file for (wired) network configuration is /etc/config/network

SSH in and get the output from the following two commands:

Code: Select all

uci show network
ifconfig
Post that output here -- it may help me figure out the problem (but no guarantees).
