Hello, the Smartlife Troubles with
Linksys WRT32X are not yet solved or?
I have 1.12.0 installed and for SmartLife i use a different Router, Gargoyle with WRT32X i can use 2 + 5 GHZ with Smartphone and before with all Alexa devices too.
Last week i got the new ECHO DOT 4 and WIFI had 1 instead of 3-4 bars with Echo Dot 3.
I had even to change the 5GHZ Channel to 20 Mhz to have a little signal.
So i wonder if this the issue same as SmartLife connection troubles?
Any news about a fix of this problems or will this never be fixed? Since i have two WRT32X i would prefer a fix

From my understanding its a driver problem with WRT32X
My understanding its unlikely to be fixed as the company was sold.

I doubt it is the same issue. I don't think Amazon would have used cheap iot chipsets in the dot.

But as i understood with the original driver there where no issues? So why does this not work with openwrt/gargoyle too?
So it is only good for 5 GHZ usage, not 2 GHZ?

Why don't you ask Linksys/Marvell/NXP?
They put a router in a box with the label "fully open source ready", then they kept the firmware closed source, released a half hearted driver with a single person working on it seemingly part time (or less!), and its now been abandoned due to the wireless division being sold to another company. To be honest, it was abandoned long before that.
When you're not working blindfolded in the dark with 1 arm tied behind your back, its a lot easier to make a driver that works.

So the router is only good for LAN, 5GHZ network correct?
To switch of the 2 GHZ in can only be done manual in the /etc/config/wireless, correct?

Both bands run the same driver they're equally bad.
No you can turn them on and off independently in Gargoyle
