Don't get the maximum speed, even half of this.
Hi,
I'm a proudly user of Gargoyle FW for years, but recently i have noted some error or bug in my network speed. I have recently aquired 240 MB and in tests made with my router with gargoyle FW (Gargoyle Version:1.10.X (Built 20171221-0524 git@f579afd), Model:TP-Link Archer C7 v2 / Memory: 123.1MB) my speed athinges 90MB (in maximum). But if i do the tests in the Modem of my ISP I get the 240MB+.
I Use the Modem in Bridge and the C7 do all the work.
I Don't have any QoS configuration or Quotas (images below).
I already tried made tests configuring on QoS (Download) -- Service Classes, in Normal the speed 240000kbps (
even more than this) but the result was even more below without this configuration.
So if anyone can help me I will be more than happy.

P.S: I already made some testes, with C7 in DHCP (wired) and my ISP Modem doing all the work and the results are the same, directly in the ISP Modem i have speeds 240MB+ in tests, but in Gargoyle C7 i dont get even 100MB.
All the tests i made with wired and only my computer in active in the network.

Probably a CPU problem - you can try it as follows:
Temporarily turn off the bandwidth monitor and try if it improves, it will be a slow CPU.
Code: Select all
/etc/init.d/bwmon_gargoyle stop
Turris Omnia with OpenWrt 21.02 - Tested
Linksys WRT3200ACM with Gargoyle 1.13.x

First of all, thanks for your time trying help me. I have made que command you show me and new tests and had a slight improvement (from 89MB to 120MB)RomanHK wrote:Probably a CPU problem - you can try it as follows:Temporarily turn off the bandwidth monitor and try if it improves, it will be a slow CPU.Code: Select all

A further improvement is when you turn off Quotas and QoS - the problem is really in the CPU.

So my router (which I thought was a big deal) in the end can not handle the total of my network, correct? Which would you recommend for up to 350MB internet and accept FW Gargoyle? Would there be any other solution for me besides having to buy another router?

I have an ISP UPC 500Mbps and I also had to buy a better router. I recommend 2x core, >1GHz (e.g. Linksys WRT1xxxAC, ...)

Re: Don't get the maximum speed, even half of this.
So will a Linksys Wrt1900ac (1.2 GHz Dual Core ARM CPU for WRT1900AC) solve my problem and get the most out of my internet (currently 240MB and soon 300MB)?RomanHK wrote:I have an ISP UPC 500Mbps and I also had to buy a better router. I recommend 2x core, >1GHz (e.g. Linksys WRT1xxxAC, ...)

Just to confirm and have no mistake (and not disappoint me again as I am with my C7), this Linksys here is what solves everything and accepts FW Gargoyle:RomanHK wrote:Yes, he should solve it.

Probably yes, today they buy new ones like AC (S) or AC (v2). All of these are supported by Gargoyle (AC, ACS, ACv2). Download Gargoyle here (many problems with 1.11.0 have been solved, build from @ispyisail): viewtopic.php?f=14&t=12085
