Client Bridge issue?

Post by noxin »

Hello,
I'm using bleeding edge on a fon2100 (single port) and I'm trying to set it up as a client bridge.

For some strange reason, I can pull a DHCP address via the bridge, but when I attempt to pass any traffic, it doesn't appear to be passed on by the fon device.

Any suggestions on what I should check to ensure I have this working properly?

Thanks!

Well, if you're getting an IP via DHCP you're clearly connected to the wireless network properly. Maybe it's a DNS issue?

Can you be a bit more specific about what you can and can't do? For example, can you ping the AP? If so, try pinging 74.125.67.100, which is google's IP address. If you can ping google's IP but not connect via the web then it's likely a DNS issue. If you can't ping at all, then something else is going on.

Hrm, I hate intermittent issues.

Previously I couldn't ping the local gateway/router for the house. It would sometimes send one or two pings through and then complete packet loss.

It seems to be working this morning as I'm sending this post over the wireless bridge.

Thanks for responding and I'll post up if I run into any more issues.
