Searching 3g/4g Router
Hi,
I'm living in Germany and planing about using Gargoyle to set quotas on a 4g Router.
Is there any supported 4g router?
First I tried to use a TP-Link Router as an access point "behind" the 4g-Router. But Quotas don't seem to work in access point mode!?
Thank you for your help!

Re: Searching 3g/4g Router
The Gargoyle must be configured as a gateway to use quotas.
I don’t know if any supported 4g modems. Your suggested configuration of putting Gargoyle behind one is more common.

thank you for your fast answer.
I use the "Gateway"-Mode on the Gargoyle-Router, but I don't think that is what you are talking about, are you?
Attached you find Screenshots of my configuration.

Just to make sure I got you right:
It is not possible to put the Gargoyle Router behind the ISP-Router AND use the Quotas?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Thank you for your fast answer and for the advice with this modem.
If i read the specs of the Huawei E3372 right, the only way to use it. is to attach it via usb (to a laptop).
But I need Wifi-funcionality because the intended use of the 4g-router is in an Airbnb.
I already got an TP-Link TL-WR902AC.
Would it be possible to install Gargoyle on the Huawei and setting quotas + attaching the Huawei to the TP-Link to get Wifi-funcionality?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Attach to a Gargoyle router (A powerful router, cheap routers are not suitable)
Re: Searching 3g/4g Router
So the Huawei keeps it's normal firmware and get's attached to a Gargoyle-Router?ispyisail wrote:No

Is there a suitable TP-Link router which you would recommend?

C7 or Linksys WRT AC SeriesIs there a suitable TP-Link router which you would recommend?
C7 is starting to get a bit old now but still good unless you have fast internet speeds (over 50 - 100mbps)
Re: Searching 3g/4g Router
It IS possible if you use Gateway and connect it right.
I can’t see your settings.

Re: Searching 3g/4g Router
You don’t mention your current 4g router, which in all likelihood is adequate as it will retain it’s OEM firmware when connected to another gargoyle gateway...
I have a standard B315 LTE router connected from one of it’s LAN ports to an Archer C7 WAN port. C7 has Gargoyle 1.10.x set as a gateway and Fixed IP in the B315 default subnet 192.168.8.xxx. Quotas and QoS run perfectly. The system is installed at the edge of the LTE footprint so speeds are in the 10 to 15 mbit range.
Previously I ran this with E3372 in the USB port of an AR150 with gargoyle 1.10.x. Quotas and QoS all ran perfectly. This is a nice compact setup, but might be constrained by your number of users, area to be covered by the WiFi and loading...
