TP-Link WR1043ND v4 Support ?
hi,
I have bought a WR1043ND v4 because it was listed here:
https://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wr1043nd?s
as working (v4 Snapshot from 2017-02-19 was working without problems),
but now I wanted to flash gargoyle, but I cant find a firmware for it.
is it not supported ?
openwrt trunk is possible: https://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots ... x/generic/
or LEDE FW..
but it is horrorible to configure if u always used gargoyle

We only build against stable firmware
v4 never made it to stable
You will have to wait for the next major update
could be a long time?

Re: TP-Link WR1043ND v4 Support ?
openwrt / LEDE split slowed things down (12 months?)

I flashed the lede fw,
https://lede-project.org/toh/hwdata/tp- ... r1043nd_v4
it works very good, but it is horrorible to configure it.
wr1043nd v4 is listed in stable/release:
https://downloads.lede-project.org/rele ... x/generic/
hope gargoyle will support it soon

Is it still the case not supported? I went away from Gargoyle when the ISP upgraded me to 500mbps connection and my old router lacked the oomph. I was looking at buying a better router to replace the ISP one and of course switching the firmware I can get the WR1043ND locally but it looks to be V4.

It's supported, you can check the download page.
It's not going to do anywhere close to 500mbps though so I wouldn't entertain that idea.

Thanks. Ah well back to the drawing board, thought the spec said up to 1Gbps on the WAN

On stock firmware with NAT acceleration. For 500mbps you'll want a pretty high tier device. Especially if you want to do QoS or quotas.

Thanks.
Unfortunately there's no 3rd party firmware for the ISP provided C1200 and the stock is limited. My choices locally are somewhat limited. Guess once we can travel again I'll buy and bring back.

In case it gives a hint for anyone else facing similar issues. In the end I bought a Pi4B, a USB3-ethernet adaptor and have that working running an OpenWRT snapshot.
