Can anybody explain reason why disabling ANI works? What is this ANI feature anyway? I see acronym of ANI is Ambient Noise Immunity, but what does that mean?

No. In the latest version we don't disable it.
Some users report better performance with it disabled but that is a rare occurrence.
ANI is used to adapt to a noisy environment.
