Re: Ubiquiti BulletM2 lost password
The "keepalive" lines come in too fast, I don't get the time to even type 6 characters. How do i slow this down?
Re: Ubiquiti BulletM2 lost password
Now that you have serial connection you can go back and try the official reflash method. You can see what's going on now
Re: Ubiquiti BulletM2 lost password
Also you could try and reboot the router and watch the log screen closely. Sometimes the give you the option to stop the boot.
Re: Ubiquiti BulletM2 lost password
I managed to change the PW.
Now I have full access.
I learned a lot over the last couple of days.
Many Many thanks to ispyisail & Lantis & top_s for your time, courtesy, patience and passed-on experience.

Do you mind telling us what the problem was?
The serial cable lets you see whats going on.

Re: Ubiquiti BulletM2 lost password
The problem was that i purchased a "new' bullet m2 online.
But it turned out that it was "slightly" used and someone removed the original AirOs and replaced it with the Gargoyle version. The gargoyle version was password locked.
I emailed the seller, but "he" is out of the office, according to eBay.
I did get a answer from him eventually, telling me " so sorry, but i don't know the password" .
I let it slide, as returning goods to Europe is a waste of money and time.
So I came to your forum for an answer. That's it in short.

Re: Ubiquiti BulletM2 lost password
I suspect he tried and failed to install Gargoyle.
decided to flick it off on ebay?
The question I want to known is why where you have problems re-flashing?

Re: Ubiquiti BulletM2 lost password
The failsafe reset : I could not get it to work. I tried many times(at one stage I was ready to just dump the Bullet), and followed the instructions to the letter, yet i failed each time. Maybe it does not work with Ubiquiti, OR the previous owner screwed around with it OR it was my fault.
Than you suggested the Serial method , that worked a charm

Re: Ubiquiti BulletM2 lost password
Serial is certainly the difficult and advanced way to the same outcome, so well done for sticking with it and getting it done.

Re: Ubiquiti BulletM2 lost password
Nice! Good job!
The way you changed the password was with the passwd command?
Hope you stick to gargoyle, despite the rough start.
Happy new year everyone.
