Any device support openwrt should support gargoyle?

Nope.
However, all devices that are not supported by OpenWRT are also not supported by gargoyle.

So there’s 2 parts to that question.
Are all routers that are supported by Openwrt supported by Gargoyle? No
Can all routers supported by Openwrt be supported by Gargoyle IN THEORY? Yes (in general), if the user is willing to do their own compilation and work to support it.
That being said, if it is a router with only 4MB of flash like your original suggestions, you would struggle a lot.
@fifoniks comment is also valid

You should always start with the latest version possible.
1.10.0 is a good start, and moving to one of latest 1.10.x will usually net better results.
If you want to start developing for any router, you need to do a lot of reading, starting here.

You would need to do a custom compile for ramips mt76x8 target, but yes in theory it would work.

But you would have to build/make/create the gargoyle image yourself.
No Gargoyle image/firmware/software exists
