Bingo. DFS.
There’s a few possible things going on, and your best option is to change the upstream to a non DFS channel to avoid all of them.
1. If Gargoyle thinks you’re not allowed to transmit on 52, it will never fire up. This may be solved by setting the correct country code for your location.
2. Even with the correct country code, DFS usually implies a 60 second (minimum) listening period before it will fire up. If it heard any radar during that time it will change channel or never come online.
3. When you have a repeater setup, both the AP and the STA get tied together. If either one doesn’t come online, the other won’t either.
So options:
- try setting the correct country code and try again
- move upstream to a non DFS area
The second one will be a guaranteed no fuss fix and is your best bet.

I disabled DFS on the main router and now its running on channel 36 and it seems to be working. Thank you.
