Re: wrt1900ACS (AC v.2)
To go to Gargoyle from Openwrt I understand I need to use the image: gargoyle_1.10.0-mvebu-armada-385-linksys-shelby-squashfs-sysupgrade.tar not factory.img?oliver44 wrote:If you are on Windows, you will need WinScp to copy the linksys firmware to the / tmp directory of your WRT1900ACSLantis wrote:Going from LEDE to Gargoyle you will need to use the command line to force the sysupgrade (do not preserve settings).
Going back to LEDE you should be able to use the GUI (do not preserve settings).
Open Winscp, click on new website and then enter the ip of the router, enter the option SCP enter user and password of the router and of enter or click on login.
On the right side navigate to the tmp folder, then on the left side navigate to where you saved the firmware and copy into the tmp folder.
After the transfer, close the Winsp, and open putty.
In the Putty type root@192.168.1.1 and then you will be prompted for the router password enter the password and enter.
Done this, select the directory in Putty with the command cd /tmp.
And then run the command sysupgrade -n -F (your firmware.any) where you are between relatives enter the full name of the firmware with extension.
Then enter and the router will start to update and then reboot already with linksys firmware.
I can use this procedure to get to Gargoyle from Openwrt?
I ask because you told me about the command line to force the sysupgrade.I do not know what you mean, you can explain the steps i need to follow in detail....
To be honest i'm not an expert in using openwrt, that's why i'm looking for a software alternative for this router
Thank you
You need to unzip some of the sysupgrade.tar image, or it is used in the original downloaded format and i can use the above steps for installation?
Thank you for your patience to explain everything

Yes use sysupgrade.
No need to decompress anything, just use it as is.

Re: wrt1900ACS (AC v.2)
I managed to install the gargoyle and the first speed test!
One question, the temperatures are not very high?
http://s.go.ro/haihtviw
Internet Conection PPPoE IPv4 and IPv6 dual stack, connection speed 1Gbps.
It's a bad that gargoyle does not support ipv6 dual stock, may be able to support this standard in the future?

Re: wrt1900ACS (AC v.2)
I’ve never heard anyone question low temperatures.
No, you always use the sysupgrade image between Openwrt versions (including gargoyle).
It might be possible in the future but it is not currently planned.

Re: wrt1900ACS (AC v.2)
What i saw in the gargoyle speed test in this version is very weak on the 5ghz wifi side..With the same device, in openwrt i get 160Mbps!

Re: wrt1900ACS (AC v.2)
You haven’t provided any settings that I might be able to check for user error.
You could try a later version of the firmware to get the latest wifi drivers.

Re: wrt1900ACS (AC v.2)
I need some help!!!
During the return to the OpenWrt / SuperWrt software, i have encountered some problems:
1.I tried flash new firmware image with the sysupgrade image file SuperWrt, from GUI -it did not work
2.I tried flash new firmware image with the sysupgrade image file SuperWrt, with WinScp through the procedure I followed to install and the Gargoyle firmware-did not work and i received error!
In both versions the router returned to the Gargoyle firmware,I managed to get to the firmware OpenWrt / SuperWrt after i write with the factory.img file directly from the Gargoyle software!
Now my problem is the following, i can no longer access the router via Putty and WinScp!
