TP-Link WR1043 Wifi dropping

@ispyisail I'm open to testing SVNs ony my hardware but that link points to a thread on Tor? I can't search the board for "svn" as the search string is too short...

I am getting the exact same situation with my Netgear WNDR3700v2. I've tried 1.4.3 and 1.5 and both exhibit the same problem. Wired internet is stable. Even 5ghz wireless is stable. Only 2.4ghz turns off after 30 min or so. The only way to get it back up is to reboot or ssh in and 'wifi up'. I looked at the logread and dmesg |tail for any indications but nothing appears. I couldn't figure it out but would like to. I've switched back to stock and everything is back to normal but I miss the GUI of gargoyle...

I just saw that 1.5.1 is released with a potential fix for the wireless. I'll wait and see if others are having success as I JUST got back to stock... ugh. Happy to see the update though

Client + AP mode configured

Running fine for something less than 24 hours, and all of a sudden
all internet/connections dropped

Router reboot fixed issues

Any other routers exhibiting similar issue?

I had a similar problem when using normal AP mode and WPA2-PSK

using "WPA-PSK" or "none" fixed the problem for me?

Interesting that WPA2-AES wouldn't be working correctly, as 802.11n only specifies WPA2-AES and no security at all for valid operation. Use WPA2-AES when using 802.11n 40 Mhz channels. When you are in a mixed environment, using 802.11 a/b/g devices, use WPA-TKIP. As a last resort try with encryption off and see if you can at least get things not to crash (you can always use a mac filter while you test this). Anything else isn't really guaranteed, and might not work right.

OK... My router is NOT having the dropouts.

I re-configured my DIR-601 to be a Wireless client connect to AP
and connect via computer to the LAN ports of the DIR-601

So its really a wireless bridge - just to test wireless functionality.

No drops - no router lockups, etc.

Figured out the AP was dropping the connect, not the DIR-601

I have re-flashed my Asus-RT-N16 to a different firmware and
the wireless connection to the DIR-601 is rock stable now.

Don't just assume its the client - you have to check the AP too!

Encryption is WPA2-AES

Asus RT-N16 is Wireless-N and DIR-601 is also using Wireless-N

I'll report back in a couple days to verify if my connection has stayed
connected or if it has dropped / router crashed.

Yes, my DIR-601 was dropping connections, so I thought that
there was an issue, but it turns out the Asus RT-N16 was the one
dropping the connections (using Tomato firmware)

I flashed DD-WRT back on my Asus RT-N16, re-configured, and
I've had no problems so far. I've had a Wireless bridge config going
on my DIR-601 and the connection has been up and solid.

Asus RT-N16 - Main Client AP - Wireless-N config with WPA2-AES
DIR-601 - Wireless Bridge client to Asus RT-N16, Wireless-N WPA2-AES

Connection has stayed up for about 2 days so far, stable and fast.

I wonder if its something to do with just the TP-Links?
