Can't access gui behind switch *SOLVED!*

Post by Tank_Killer »

Hello, I have gargoyle 1.5 on my WNDR3700v1. Here is my topography.

modem-->WNDR3700-->8port layer 2 switch (Cisco SLM2008)-->clients

I cannot get to the router login page from anything behind the switch, is there something i'm missing? I am using standard frame size of 1500 ect. Also I have changed my gatway and DHCP pool ect to run on 192.168.0.1, I have 3 other devices with static ips and I can login to those fine. My static IP clients are assigned addresses BELOW the DHCP pool range.

I can get to the gargoyle login page if I am on wireless, or connected directly to the WNDR3700.

I would more guess that it could be a VLAN problem in your switch.

Well my switch has the default vlan in place, of which all ports are a member of. I dont need multiple vlans and did not configure any. everything behind the switch works great EXCEPT i cannot access the gargoyle login page.

I have a NAS and a wired network printer behind the siwtch (same side the client PC is on), and I can get to them fine. I have no other devices on the routers switch, its just one cable to cascade my router to my main switch.

I should also mention I could access the router GUI fine on the netgear stock firmware, in the exact same setup. Only thing that changed is now the WNDR3700 is gargoyle.

I'm not sure whats going on, but if I try the gui using HTTPS its works for the most part. But some pages/graphics randomly wont display, and the logout screen doesnt ever work.

Anyone?

What antivirus program do you have?
Someone else had a similar problem with NOD (I think it was called NOD).

BINGO!! It was my NOD antivirus, good call. I resolved the issue by adding the IP of the gateway to the excluded ip list in this manner.

Advanced setup-->Web and Email-->Protocol filtering-->Excluded IP addresses

Hope this doesnt prevent antivirus filtering from the internet now :?

Looks like Gargoyle is not the only one with NOD32 problems...
