16dBm limitation??

Post by scalawag »

Hi
I'm using Gargoyle on my Nanostation2 with success for almost 3 years now.
Right now i have 1.3.5 version installed on Client+AP mode.
I was abble to activate channel 12 & 13 by adding the 'country' option, but i'm still unable to use my router @ 20dBm, the max allowed in Portugal where i live.
Running 'iwlist txpower' i get:

ath0 8 available transmit-powers :
0 dBm (1 mW)
4 dBm (2 mW)
6 dBm (3 mW)
8 dBm (6 mW)
10 dBm (10 mW)
12 dBm (15 mW)
14 dBm (25 mW)
16 dBm (39 mW)
Current Tx-Power=16 dBm (39 mW)

ath1 8 available transmit-powers :
0 dBm (1 mW)
4 dBm (2 mW)
6 dBm (3 mW)
8 dBm (6 mW)
10 dBm (10 mW)
12 dBm (15 mW)
14 dBm (25 mW)
16 dBm (39 mW)
Current Tx-Power=16 dBm (39 mW)
How can i use my Nanostation @ 20dBM?
Why is Gargoyle limiting to 16dBm??
With the official AirOS firmware i can use it @ 26dBm, but it has no Client+AP mode.
Thanks.

See that thread

Read the post above mine in that thread and also read
through my post - you should have enough info to change any
channels and increase output power as well.

------------

This DOES NOT stay if you upgrade firmware in the future.

You have to re-apply this fix if you upgrade Gargoyle/OpenWRT firmware.
