Gargoyle 1.15.x based on OpenWrt 24.10 is the latest unofficial version of Gargoyle switching to the latest stable release from OpenWrt. This also includes the previous beta changes switching from iptables to nftables (firewall3 to firewall4).
While I do not recommend keeping settings between OpenWrt 23.05 and 24.10 based versions of 1.15.x, in theory they are compatible for most devices. Proceed with caution.
Configs should generally not be preserved between 1.14 (and earlier) and 1.15.x. Do so at your own risk.
Changes since "BETA - 2026-01-06":
- Merged OpenWrt 24.10 changes to master branch and removed "beta" flag
- Fixed an edge case for WireGuard configs not importing
- Fixed an issue preventing WireGuard (and OpenVPN) traffic flowing when Enforce DHCP Assignments was also enabled
- Enabled ASUS TUF-AX4200Q on the Mediatek/Filogic target
- Fixed a bug in the GUI when users selected 802.11n on the 5GHz band
Known Issues
- Samba shares utilising ksmbd will not work if "Same folder on all disks" option is selected

Re: Gargoyle 1.15.x OpenWrt 24.10 - 2026-01-28
Installed it over 1.15.x_20250331 preserving settings on my GL-MT6000.
I see some issues:
1. Status | Bandwidth Usage | Bandwidth Graph Display Options: when I select 'Hostname' or 'IP' in dropdown, the dropdown value is instantly reset to 'None' and the 2nd dropdown with a list of IP/hostnames not appearing (actually the 2nd dropdown is appearing for a moment and it does have some entries). At the same time Hostname/IP dropdown is displayed in the Bandwidth Usage Table section on the page below.
2. Status | Bandwidth Usage | Bandwidth Usage Table: Downloads are 0 and as a result, Total's values equal to upload values.
3. Status | Bandwidth Usage | Bandwidth Graph Display Options | Bandwidth Graphs: Download graph shows zeroes (probably related to 2)
4. As a result of all downloads are zeroes, QoS Downloads have all zeroes (in table and on graphs). QoS Downloads are also zeroes on Status | QoS Distribution page.
Tried Shift+Reload, tried different browser (no cached content issue), no js errors.
Reverted to previously used version for now, all back to normal.

My recommendation is to not preserve settings and see if the problem persists. You should also clear your browser cache and see if the situation improves.fifonik wrote: ↑Sun Feb 01, 2026 7:14 pmInstalled it over 1.15.x_20250331 preserving settings on my GL-MT6000.

Re: Gargoyle 1.15.x OpenWrt 24.10 - 2026-01-28
Caching was not an issue as I also tried different browser (that I never used with old gargoyle) and zeroes are coming in response from server (checked in browser dev tools).
As for flashing without preserving settings -- this is a bit tricky as configuring everything from the scratch taking a few hours in my case and I need to find out a time slot for that when people at home not using internet and not printing %-)
Also, I'd like not to lose the BW statistics (I read that it is possibpe to save it, but tried it a few times and never succeeded).

deleted.
(It seems to resolved after reboot.)

If you’d like, you can create a backup, delete all your bandwidth data and see if the problem persists.fifonik wrote: ↑Tue Feb 03, 2026 7:06 pmCaching was not an issue as I also tried different browser (that I never used with old gargoyle) and zeroes are coming in response from server (checked in browser dev tools).

When you’re done, stop the bandwidth monitor, put the data files back in and restart the service and it will be back. You will only lose the period you were testing for.
Or you can ship me your bandwidth data and I’ll see if I can reproduce any issues.

Re: Gargoyle 1.15.x OpenWrt 24.10 - 2026-01-28
Wondering if there's any easy way to transfer all my QoS, Black/Whitelists and Port Forwarding Rules. These lists have been getting rather large and cumbersome to re-enter as I'm self hosting more and more stuff. Can I ssh into the router and just copy a file or two after the update? I saw it 'should be same' but get the sense it's not recommended.
Thanks for the OpenWrt 24.10 love! Love this project!

Hi Karen, which version are you currently on?karenmcd wrote: ↑Sat Feb 07, 2026 5:21 amWondering if there's any easy way to transfer all my QoS, Black/Whitelists and Port Forwarding Rules. I’ll try and assess what is safe and what isn’t.
