Guest network without MAC filter

Hi,

This question might have been answered before but I couldn't find it.

I use MAC filtering on my private wireless network. I have - since today - also switched on the Guest Network but it seems to only allow the MAC addresses in the list where I was expecting the Guest Network to be independent of that.

Is there a way to have MAC filtering on my private network but no filtering on the guest network?

The GUI is coded to apply the restriction to all interfaces.
You can only remove it from the config file manually.

A minor code tweak might work as well on the router in the JavaScript.

Other question someone might know the answer to: if someone uses a Chromecast (and a phone to control it), can it work if they are both on the Guest network or would that make them invisible to each other? Or do they communicate via bluetooth?

If they are both on the Guest Network they should be able to communicate, unless isolation is turned on.

Ah, that explains it then (it wasn't working).

But now I wonder what's the difference between a Guest Network without client isolation and the normal non-guest network?

Guest network cannot access LAN resources through bridge filtering but it is not perfect.
I think two wifi interfaces on the same bridge do seem to sometimes bypass it. That might be just some settings that are wrong or it might be fundamental issues in how it works.
