Hi everyone,
I'm running an Archer c7 v5 for my home router for basic web use. Lately I tried switching to openwrt 21.02 because I figured that would be the most secure build for my router. My problem is that openwrt 21.02 is buggy on my router with choppy video calls and dropouts.
If I reverted back to Gargoyle 1.12 (which is rock solid) would I be compromising on any security features in comparison to the recent release of openwrt?
Many thanks.
Any major security issues with Gargoyle 1.12?

Yes, the latest 1.12.x would be much better than 1.12.0.
1.13.x would be better again and pretty much on par with OpenWrt 21.02 in terms of security (it is based on the latest 19.07).

Yes that's just about the last one. There may be minor changes after that but it wouldn't be many.
