I am looking for a piece of hardware.
Summary of question:
can you please recommend an outdoor Access Point with enough RAM to run the latest Gargoyle versions?
Background:
For a small(!) club in the country side I am looking for a solution to share a xDSL fiber connection via WiFi.
So no other WiFi around, support for 2.4GHz is enough.
Automatic data allowances for visitors with a (daily) reset are necessary. That is how I found 'Gargoyle'.
The configuration would be a simple
- ADSL/VDSL router from the Internet access provider
- an Access point for outdoors to broadcast a 2.4GHz signal
Only 2-5 clients at the same time are expected. Only one uses it to stream videos.
So no special Multi-MIMO is necessary but would still be welcome.
On the supported Hardware list I found the 'Ubiquiti NanoStation Loco M2' which ticks all the necessary boxes.
BUT it has only the 'bare minimum' amount of RAM.
And the documentation strongly advises against buying such a limited device.
Do you have any suggestion please?

You could use an indoor unit (Gargoyle) then use a ubnt unifi unit outside.
Unifi is "transparent" meaning gargoyle router does all the work.

Or a outdoor, good antenna, cable, with modem indoor.
With me, the hermetic/closed used outdoor box always overheat the AP, and he dies in moths. (I live in a hot country )

Please provide a sequence of steps to get and add the Gargoyle packages to an existing OpenWRT installation.

Thanks for your suggestions. I would really like to have a single broadcasting device attached to an unmodified provider-router.
I have searched for hours now and am thoroughly confused.
Even if I find a device in the right hardware revision that is supported by OpenWRT this still does not mean I will find a Gargoyle build ready made for it.
So I am now referring to the FAQ:

So I would buy an outdoor AP in the right hardware revision to install OpenWRT on it. Then I would like to install and setup the Gargoyle additions.
But I couldn't find a reference on how to install and set up which series of packages. Also is there a place to download the binaries of these packages because I can't dig in as a full scale developer with all sorts of compilers and source hubs flooding my hard drive just for the one device that is not even my own (and I am on a very limited data plan).

Gargoyle is based on the most recent Kamikaze release of the OpenWrt firmware. In fact, Gargoyle can easily be installed as a series of packages on top of a default Kamikaze installation.

Impossible nowPlease provide a sequence of steps to get and add the Gargoyle packages to an existing OpenWRT installation.
It was possible 10 years ago.
