DIR-300 reset

Post by masterBlaster »

Hello, I have a problem, but don't know if my router can still be saved..
I flashed my Dir-300 with Gargoyle 1.0.16 a few days ago, and it worked fine, but someone pressed the reset button on the router and now the GUI can't be accessed, the router is not assigning an Ip address to the system..
I tried the 30-30-30 reset and access via telnet to 192.168.20.81 and "reflash" the whole thing, but nothing seems to work...
was there any problem with that reset button?
Thanks in advance for any help

I don't remember if the reset button worked or not, but if it did,
it would default to an IP address of 192.168.1.1

If its not assigning DHCP, you have to set your computer IP to
192.168.1.2 / 255.255.255.0 and then try and access the GUI page.

default password is usually: password

Try that and see if you can connect through the lan ports.

hello!! thanks for the reply.
Well, I tried to set the IP manually, but still can't access the GUI, is there any other address to try, instead of 192.168.1.1? or can we conclude that pressing the reset button somehow "bricked" my router?
thanks a lot for the info!

You could maybe try the Fon-Flash utility on the download section.

Can you get to a redboot prompt?

You can also manually tftp via redboot and flash that way.

Try Fon-Flash though, and see if you can get the firmware to re-flash.
