OpenVPN server not working

Post by matust »

Hi,

I have had openvpn server up and running and working fine. We have just moved to a new house and the configuration has changed from PPoE with static ip to DHCP (wired) and I believe it is not a static ip.

I have tried different configs and even restoring defaults on the router but can't get OpenVPN to work. Any ideas? Will paying extra for a static ip help?

most likely not

Start by resting you router to new

failsafe reset, or re-flash your router

@ispyisail ok thanks for the reply. I'll try a reflash since the resetting didn't work

you also need to setup "Dynamic DNS" to get around floating IP address.

I've just tried using a dynamic DNS now as well and I'm still not able to connect. I don't know if changing from ADSL 2 to the NBN and not requiring a modem any more has affected it. I'm running 1.9.2 and tried going back to 1.8.1 but I'm still not able to connect. I must be missing something and its got me stumped.
